Day 1 Introduction Over the course of my teaching/writing career, my writings have been focused on, whether directly in the Biblical vein of teaching or expounding upon Biblical truths in essays or blogs, encouragement for the Christian reader! My first book, a Bible commentary entitled “All Things New – Understanding the Book of Revelation”, was written with the average Bible reader in mind…Christians who had some in depth Bible knowledge and interest in Bible prophecy, but who still lacked a basic understanding of the prophetic book of Revelation and how it consummated the previous prophetic themes into one book. My intent was to write a commentary that would explain the great biblical themes of prophecy represented in the Book of Revelation and make it understandable and encouraging rather than the terrifying tome it has become. This volume is a commentary as well of the first natural division of the Book of Genesis, Chapters 1 through 11…from the creation of the world to God’s covenant with Abraham, the father of the Hebrew people. I’ve attempted to relate in as simple and understandable terms as possible the greatest story ever told and certainly one of the most fascinating! I must to tell you, I’ve been teaching Scripture for over 35 years and I can honestly say that my studies in this book, which have resulted in this commentary/devotional, has been the single most interesting and insightful study I have ever done! Day 2 Introduction (Continued) With this volume, I want to share the result of my intensive investigations into the creation accounts of Genesis (chapters 1 and 2), the story of Adam and Eve (chapters 2-5), the corruption of the human race after the fallen angel (watcher) incursion (chapter 6), the fascinating story of Noah’s Flood and the catastrophic events that led to it (chapters 6-9), the spread of people groups throughout the world (chapter 9)…to Nimrod and the call of Abraham in Chapter 11.

I’ve arranged the study/commentary into a daily devotional type format that will complete at the end of Chapter 11 on day 365 of any calendar year! Not only can you begin the study on any day of the week and complete the entire study in 365 lessons (that take on an average of 90 seconds to read), but each week the studies are broken up on the 6th day by an encouraging, faith-building devotional that I’ve written and compiled from my Facebook blogs over the last several years.

From the creation of the world, the fall of Adam and Eve, fallen angels, the Nephilim and Noah’s flood, to God’s covenant with Abraham and His chosen people…this book is a MUST READ for anyone interested in where we came from as a people and where we’re heading according to the ancient prophecies.  These prophecies, by the way, suggest a time at the end of the age that will be similar to the “Days of Noah.” Those days are described in Genesis 6 and referred to by our Lord in Matthew 24:37-39…Days which resulted in God sending an almost incomprehensible, world-wide flood that destroyed every living thing on the earth, with the exception of Noah and his family! Day 3 Introduction (Continued) Not only will this commentary/devotional answer such questions as “Were Adam and Eve really the first persons on earth? and where did Cain get his wife? But also, did fallen angels really come to earth and corrupt almost every living thing and bring about gigantic human mutants and fantastic beasts that resembled ancient mythological creatures? And was every living thing that was not on the Ark destroyed or did some life forms survive the catastrophic flood – Where did the dove get the olive branch?

Many good, scholarly commentaries have been written on the Book of Genesis but few, if any, consult the ancient non-canonical books of Enoch, Jubilee and Jasher as supplements to the biblical account! These wonderful books not only fill in the blanks that Moses was not told to record, but they, when synchronized with the Biblical account, paint a picture of unprecedented sin, degradation and corruption that this world has never seen! ... ‘The Days of Noah’ which caused God to destroy the earth with a catastrophic flood and one which our Lord prophesied would return again in some form before His return! Utilizing these ‘once canonical’, historical documents that authenticate and give weight to the Bible’s narrative and as we’ll see... the truth may really be stranger than fiction!

We’ll also answer questions about where we, here in the United States and in other countries, came from as descendants of Noah and his sons! Knowing the TRUTH about where we came from helps us to understand who we are and to an extent why we are the way we are as a people group! (Continued)  

Day 4 Introduction (Continued) Did you know that Abraham was an idol worshipper and was from an idol-worshipping family? Did you know that on one occasion he smashed all his father’s idols and ran away from home as a young man? There’s much this volume will reveal about the man who would become the patriarch of the Hebrew people as well as some other very interesting facts about his family and personal life! Did you know that Abraham and his wife Sarah were the first and last people the Bible records as having ‘laughed’ at God? Did you know that although Abraham married after Sarah’s death and had several more children, at his death he was buried next to her?

This Devotional/Commentary will reveal many interesting, perhaps even unbelievable facts about the pre-flood world that you have never heard of before but are authenticated many times by the Bible and other historical accounts that have been overlooked, sometimes intentionally! This book really is a labor of love, presented with a solemn prayer, that those who read and study its contents are both enlightened, encouraged and most of all brought into a more dynamic and intimately closer relationship with our awesome Creator! Day 5 Introduction (Conclusion) A couple of closing notes before you begin this fascinating journey through Genesis 1-11. Many of the daily studies are divided into several ‘continued’ studies. I did this so that none of the substantial and important material of each verse or topic would have to be left out simply to have a ‘complete’ stand-alone lesson each day. Remember, this is a verse by verse commentary/devotional guide and as such, adequate time must be spent on the commentary portion of each verse, whether that can be accomplished in one lesson or in several.

Secondly, the commentary portion of this study has been designed as a preparatory devotional guide to Volume 2 – Genesis - Chapter 12 (The Tower of Babel) to Chapter 25 (The Death of Abraham). If you’ll follow the daily studies from the first eleven chapters of Genesis, you’ll more than be prepared to pick up intelligently beginning in Volume 2, Chapter 12!

Finally, I sincerely hope that you will enjoy and be enlightened by these daily studies and devotionals and through it all you’ll be drawn into a deeper and more compelling relationship with the Creator of all things!
